Armed With Dreams And Spray Paint, This Artist Is Changing The Cardboard Homes Of Skid Row

Skid Robot, a mysterious figure clad in a silver mask that reflects the night, is an anonymous crusader in the war on poverty, as well as a talented artist and painter of dreams. His canvas is the forgotten colony of cardboard boxes where 1,700 homeless people live, invisible though surrounded by 4 million people in one of the richest cities in the world. Not only does the anonymous artist take the time to bring much needed relief to his subjects in the form of food, water, and clothing, he also gives them something much more valuable- a friend.

As he sits in their cardboard living rooms, surrounded by the faint sounds of wailing sirens and flickering streetlamps, Skid Robot listens to the hopes and dreams of a fascinating population, whose voices are all too often muted by the drama of the silver screen gods and money hungry gold rush constantly playing out around them. After hearing their stories and watching them grin as their dreams play softly across the screen of their imaginations, the masked man picks up a spray can, his weapon of choice in the war on poverty. He gives the can a few clicking shakes and decorates the walls of the house of Skid Row with the voices of her children, those long forgotten saints whose gap toothed smiles have stolen his heart and affected his soul.
