Nature is brought to life with plastic blocks in ‘Beautiful LEGO: Wild’

Photos from the book Beautiful LEGO: Wild! by curator Mike Doyle showcase the beauty that can be created using simple plastic blocks.

The book is the latest in a series by Doyle, who is known for creating these masterpieces and photographing those created by other artists.

While Doyle’s last book focused on sculptures of sci-fi horrors and nightmares, this book focuses on the beauty of the outdoors, whether it is a mountain, tree, undersea landscape, or a group of otters.

One of Doyle’s pieces appears in the book as well. It is called Appalachian Mountaintop Removal and was created by him this year.

Appalachian Mountaintop Removal uses more than 10,000 pieces and directly references the act outlined in the title.

Mountaintop removal is a form of coal mining that affects the Appalachian Mountains. It levels mountains, hurts aquifers and hurts wildlife.

Other pieces include a tree on top of a book with a poem showing.

Also included in the book Beautiful LEGO: Wild! is a fairy tale cabin built at the top of a large tree.

Other pieces showcase underwater life with an octopus, crab, starfish, puffer fish, and other creatures.

The book Beautiful LEGO: Wild is published by Starch Press and also includes interviews with the artists who created the LEGO masterpieces.
