Lowe’s hired a guy with a service dog after nobody else would consider it

Clay Luthy deserves our respect and admiration. Following 9/11 he was deployed to the Middle East on three separate occasions. However, after leaving the service he struggled to find a job.

Luthy loved his job with the military but after multiple surgeries on his left knee, he wasn’t able to re-enlist in the Air Force. Instead, he began to seek out work as a civilian.

Unfortunately, companies were not willing to take a chance on Luthy because he also has Charlotte by his side — his amazing service dog.

Luthy wasn’t sure how Lowe’s in Abilene, Texas would react when he showed up with his dog.

Not only did Lowe’s hire Luthy AND Charlotte, they also outfitted them both with classic red work vests.

They went viral on December 4 after a customer snapped a photo of the man and his best friend on the job.

The store’s human resource manager, Jay Fellers, told The Dodo, “We didn’t realize he was having a difficult time finding a job. He applied here and went through a normal interview process, and brought Charlotte in as part of the interview. He told us about Charlotte, and how she supports him. He ended up being our top candidate.”

No surprise here but Charlotte has become a HUGE HIT AMONG CUSTOMERS.
