Halloween is a time of year when people really pull out all the stops in the creativity department. Coming up with a clever costume every year is a top priority for many Halloween fans, and when you bring kids into the mix, finding the perfect costume to dress them in is important business.
Fortunately, babies and little kids look cute in just about anything they’re dressed in. But some parents really hit the jackpot with their costumes. Here are some amazingly adorable babies and children in their Halloween finest. Whether you’re looking for costume ideas of your own or if you just like admiring the creativity of others, you’re sure to love seeing these cute and clever looks.
A Real-Life Teddy Bear
Who wants to cuddle with an adorable fuzzy teddy bear? The real question is, who doesn’t want to? There’s nothing sweeter than a classic teddy bear and this baby looks completely perfect in his costume.
The little tuft of hair sticking out and that heart-melting smile are so hard to resist. We bet this teddy bear got lots of tasty treats on Halloween and lots of hugs from his family!
Tummy Time Scuba Dive
This is a really cute and clever way to dress a baby who’s not old enough to do much else than lay around. It’s a Scuba diver costume which is perfect for a baby who enjoys his “tummy time” along with a pacifier.
Now instead of looking like a couch potato, the child appears to be diving through the depths deep under the ocean’s surface. (If you really use your imagination!) Very nice work on this costume, parents.
This Must Be Prince’s “New Power Generation”
As big Prince fans, this child’s cute costume warms our hearts and wants us to play Purple Rain on repeat. The costume is such a perfectly adorable tribute to the late and great musician.
From the purple velvet coat with a ruffled shirt underneath to the side-swept hairstyle to the little mustache, the costume nails the essence of Prince. What a cute idea and so well done. Rock on, little one!
The Perfect Pair
Families with more than one kid face an extra challenge when deciding on Halloween costumes. Fortunately, there are tons of great ideas for sibling costumes, and these babies show a perfect example of that!
What goes better together than ketchup or mustard? Not too many things. These cutie patooties make the perfect little condiment bottles. They won’t remember this Halloween, but fortunately, there are great pictures of the holiday they can look at when they’re older.
Let Sleeping Princesses Lie
Awww, it’s the tiniest baby Princess Leia ever! This little cutie patootie is sound asleep for her Halloween photoshoot and that makes the pictures even cuter.
The knitted brown wig-hat looks just like the Star Wars character’s hairdo, and we can only imagine she’s having dreams about her future as Princess Leia Organa. This is such a great choice for newborns and very young babies because it’s so simple and unobtrusive.
This Little Piggy Went To Market…
Oh wow, have you ever seen anything quite as cute as this little pink piggy? With that sweet smile and those chubby cheeks, this Halloween costume might just be the most adorable thing we’ve ever seen.
There aren’t too many costumes this little kiddo wouldn’t look great in, but the fuzzy pig look is simply perfect. She’s bound to get some good treats (and lots of ooohs and aaahs) in this outfit.
We hope this baby in a Humpty Dumpty costume doesn’t experience the same fate that the nursery rhyme egg did. But we doubt his parents would let that happen to the little sweetie! Not to mention, this costume looks like it has a ton of padding in case he did have a little fall.
The child looks like he might be losing interest in sitting quietly for the camera. Take him trick or treating already!
The Neighborhood’s Crazy Cat Baby
She probably has no idea why everyone’s getting so many laughs from her costume, but one day soon she’ll understand. As soon as she learns about the phenomena of the “crazy cat lady” this little tot will probably be glad that her parents dressed her this way for Halloween even if she didn’t understand it at the time.
Then again, she might know exactly what she is dressed as, if that perfect sneer is any indicator. And those curlers! Too perfect.
Sleepy Little Sloth
Many parents with really young babies or newborns opt for costumes that the child can easily sleep in. This homemade crocheted sloth costume definitely fits the bill, since sloths are known to sleep a lot.
It doesn’t hurt that this infant looks absolutely adorable in the costume, all curled up asleep without a care in the world in a bed of “moss.” DIYers might like to make this one themselves, but commercial versions are available to buy.
Back To The Nursery
Someone was busy putting this child’s outfit together, complete with a model DeLorean. This is Michael J. Fox’s character Marty McFly from Back to the Future, and doesn’t he look thrilled by his custom ride?
For Marty’s costume, you just need a pair of jeans, a button-up shirt with the sleeves partially rolled up, and a red vest. Don’t worry, the DeLorean is optional… unless your kid has already seen this picture and has their heart set on one!
It seems like Chipotle has been in the news almost constantly over the past few years for one reason or another, so it makes sense that parents would choose costumes for their children based on the popular restaurant chain.
This wee little baby was dressed as a burrito, which is a pretty simple costume for a newborn. Some metallic fabric that looks like Chipotle’s wrappers can go right over the baby’s regular onesie. In fact, this adorable kid probably has no idea that he’s wearing a burrito costume.
There’s a good chance that this little girl’s parents grew up in the 1980s since Cabbage Patch Kids were all the rage back then. This sweet and creative costume gets extra points because not only is the child dressed as a doll, but she’s also posed in a box that looks just like the ones the Cabbage Patch Kids all came in.
Her little yarn wig and dress make her look just like the real dolls. Any former ’80s kids who see her in this are bound to have some great memories of their own childhood Halloweens.
A Starbucks Sweetie
Now, this is a custom Starbucks treat! This child is dressed like a drink from one of the world’s most famous coffee shops, complete with a logo cup and a hat topped with a green straw.
The cup is even filled with tulle to represent all that frothy foam that Starbucks puts into their specialty beverages. If this little girl went by her nearby store in this costume, we bet they gave her (and her parents) plenty of good treats.
A Real Tough Guy
Don’t feel bad if you were intimidated when you first saw this fierce-looking biker baby. After all, his skull cap, facial hair, sleeveless Harley shirt, and bicep tattoo all look pretty menacing.
Then you probably noticed his adorable little face and saw that he’s actually about to start giggling. He was betrayed by his own good mood! With or without that contagious smile, this dude looks perfect in his Halloween costume.
A Cutie Dressed As A Box Of Cuties
Not everyone knows what a Cutie is, but people who do tend to love them. They’re sweet and seedless mandarin oranges that come in boxes like the one this baby is sitting in, along with some balloons and a matching little hat.
Here’s a bonus idea with this costume: Cuties would be a healthy Halloween treat that kids might actually like! We wonder if this baby’s parents handed them out on the big night.
Talkin’ About Tacos
Many of us are reminded of candy like Snickers, Candy Corn, and M&M’s when we’re thinking about Halloween treats. But let’s not overlook one of the best foods in existence: tacos! This little cutie’s parents sure must have had tacos on the brain when they dressed their daughter in a little tortilla outfit, complete with lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes.
This costume might not have worked this well if she was walking yet, but it’s perfect for crawling around in!
This costume is the perfect idea for parents who have an infant since it keeps the baby swaddled safely while still allowing them to dress the newborn up in a fun Halloween look. In this case, the baby is disguised as a monarch butterfly that just emerged from its cocoon.
The colorful orange wings would have been enough, but the parents added a headband with antennae to complete the look. Great job!
Party On, Children
As we’ve seen, a lot of parents dress their kids in costumes that remind them of their own childhoods. The parents of this mini-Wayne and mini-Garth must be big fans of the 1992 flick Wayne’s World.
For the Garth costume, the child is wearing a ridiculous long blonde wig with oversized “nerd” glasses and a flannel tied around the waist. And Wayne has on a “Wayne’s World” trucker cap with a black t-shirt and jeans. Neither kid looks too thrilled here, but we’re certain they’ll love looking back at these photos one day!
Charlie And Snoopy, BFFs
Charlie Brown is one of those Halloween classics. It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown has been a tradition for many families to watch every year since it first aired in 1966, and kids have been dressing as Charlie and his various friends for many years as well.
This lucky little Charlie Brown even has a doghouse and his beloved beagle Snoopy with him as part of his costume. “Good grief,” that’s a cute Halloween scene.
Who You Gonna Call?
Well, if you’re in need of a cuteness fix, you should call this little dude! He’s dressed as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters and whoever picked this costume out deserves an award.
It’s not often that a child actually looks like the character they’re dressing as for Halloween, but those cheeks are nothing short of a 100% match with Stay Puft. And the costume is movie quality, too. Someone cast him in the next Ghostbusters, please!
Simple But Adorable
If you’re looking for a DIY costume for your little one, look no further than this adorable mouse outfit good for kids of all ages. It can be as simple as buying a sweatsuit (top and bottom) in a mousy color like gray or light brown.
Then, add a tail to the pants and top the look off with a pair of mouse ears that you can make yourself or purchase. The final result is so cute!
The New Dalai Lama?
Considering that the current Dalai Lama began his monastic education when he was just six years old, this child just might be trying to become his successor by wearing this costume.
Seriously, though, this costume is perfect for a baby. His bald little head, along with the outfit and beads, is just hilarious together. Perhaps instead of receiving treats this Halloween, he’ll give out blessings to the other toddlers instead.
Picnic basket? Check. Plates? Yes, packed some of those. Wine or sparkling water? Of course. Delicious cheese and crackers? Sure, it’s not a picnic without the cheese.
A baby dressed as a box of crackers? Yep, that’s in there too! Awww! Adorable! The little Triscuit baby looks so tiny and cute in that box (although he does look pretty nervous, too). Maybe he’s worried that someone forgot his pacifier or special blankie.
Another Perfect Cabbage Patch Kid
What did we tell you? People are nostalgic for the toys and characters from their childhoods. Here’s another Cabbage Patch Kid costume that proves it. Again, the yarn wig is just perfect and makes the little girl instantly recognizable. And the dress she’s wearing is spot-on for how the dolls were dressed.
Chubby cheeks help make any child’s costume that much cuter, so this one is a hit out of the ballpark!
Thing One And Thing Two
This has been a popular costume for twins and siblings for years. Thing One and Thing Two are twin brothers from Dr. Seuss’ 1957 book The Cat in the Hat. It’s always cutest on babies, though, like the two in this photo!
One of the great things about this costume is that the outfits can be as simple as comfy PJ onesies with painted or printed with stripes. Blue wigs are also a pretty easy find and if it’s cold out, they’ll help keep kids’ heads warm while they’re trick or treating.
Noooooo! Not The Stove!
The look on this child’s face makes it seem that they’re actually a little nervous that Dad is going to put them on the stove. But it’s more likely that they’re just wondering why the heck they’re wearing a lobster costume and stuffed into a cooking pot!
Bonus points to Dad for getting in on the costume action with that chef outfit. This looks like a family that likes to have fun together.
A Precious Pachyderm
It’s always cute to see people dressed as animals. Even grown-ups. It’s also adorable to see animals dressed as other animals. But baby humans dressed as baby animals might just take the cuteness cake.
This little elephant looks pretty pleased with the costume she has on. And the pink bow on her jumbo-sized ears is the perfect finishing touch to the look. As a bonus, the costume looks pretty comfy. She might even be able to take a little nap in it if trick-or-treating wears her out.
Everybody Loves Avocados
Avocados have been an “it”‘ food for a few years now, so it only makes sense that people would start dressing their kiddos as the popular green fruits. This adorable tot makes the perfect avocado in his or her little onesie.
The belly cutout is a clever way to mimic the pit of an avocado, plus mom or dad can get some good belly tickles in this way. This baby might even qualify for some free guac at Chipotle in this costume.
Just A Couple Of Old Maids
They say that laughter can help keep you young, and by the looks of these two little girls, that expression must be right! Just kidding, but it is hilarious to see two babies dressed as senior citizens. And they seem to find it to be pretty funny, too.
What kind of party do you think Mabel and Doris are going to for Halloween? Probably going to play bingo at the old folks’ home, or maybe it’s arts and crafts night at the senior center. Great costumes, ladies!
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! If lions were all this sweet they wouldn’t be known as the “king of the jungle” but as the “king of cuteness.”
The look of mild confusion on the baby’s face just adds to the whole effect… like “I don’t know why I’m crawling around the grass in this getup but I’m getting lots of positive reactions from it so I’ll just keep doing it.”
