Here’s another dog that got just a little too close to a bee. It’s nearly impossible to teach a dog to stay away from a bee. They use their paws and noses for investigating, and that’s usually where they get stung. When an animal gets stung, there is usually some mild swelling and tenderness in the area. This is considered a localized reaction. Vets advise pet owners to remove the stinger as quickly as possible to prevent the bee’s venom from spreading. A stinger can inject venom into a dog or cat for up to two to three minutes after leaving the bee.
