In the glitz and glam of Hollywood, it’s always fun to see some of our favorite celebrities fall in love, especially if it is with someone totally unexpected. And when it comes to some LGBTQ+ couples, they are the textbook definition of couples’ goals.
For years, some favorite “it couples” kept their relationship a secret, while others were on the covers of magazines, showcasing their love for all to see. From Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka to Wanda and Alex Sykes, these Hollywood LGBTQ+ couples show that when it comes to love, even if they’re no longer together, there are no boundaries.
Sarah Paulson And Holland Taylor
Actresses Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor are a Hollywood power couple if we’ve ever seen one. But their resumes have nothing on their cute relationship, especially when they’re supporting one another. After meeting back in 2005, it took a decade before the two actresses began dating. Once they did, there was no denying their love for one another, as anyone who reads their interviews can see.
We mean, during an interview, Paulson said, “Holland Taylor, I love you! I want to shout from the rooftops all the time about how much I love that person. So, if I can do it in front of millions of people – why not?”
Ricky Martin And Jwan Yosef
According to an interview singer Ricky Martin did with Attitude magazine, the first time he saw his now-husband Syrian-Swedish painter Jwan Yosef in person, his first thought was, “I am marrying this guy.” Well, apparently, they are the same because Yosef had the same exact thought!
But it wasn’t a whirlwind romance; the two were talking via Instagram for six months before seeing one another. When that happened, it was all over. During the interview, Martin said, ” I lost my breath when I saw him. Six months’ build-up, and it was very romantic.” The good-looking pair are now fathers to twin sons.
Lance Bass And Michael Turchin
Fans of the ’90s boy band N*SYNC were over the moon when they learned Lance Bass came out saying he was dating painter and long-time friend Michael Turchin. But they weren’t always dating, starting off as just good friends when they originally met one another.
Of course, their relationship grew into something more. And, finally, when same-sex marriage became legal in the United States, Bass and Turchin wed in what would be the first-ever LGBTQ+ marriage showcased on cable television. During an interview, Turchin said, “He’s just such an incredible person. I couldn’t imagine waking up next to anybody else.” They are totally “in sync!”
Jodie Foster And Alexandra Hedison
Actress Jodie Foster and photographer Alexandra Hedison were sparking dating rumors in 2013 after a few sources thought them to be dating for some time. As it turned out, they were right! Just one year later, the Academy Award-winning actress surprised fans when it was reported that the two tied the knot in a secret wedding.
Unfortunately, for us busy-bodies, the couple is fairly private about their life together. But we can say that every photo we see of the two has them looking like they are still as in love as they were the first time they met.
Samira Wiley And Lauren Morelli
Meeting on the set of the hit television series Orange Is The New Black, actress Samira Wiley explained to Bust magazine how she fell in love with now-wife Lauren Morelli’s mind before her beauty. During the interview, she said, “I was really attracted to Lauren’s mind first before I met Lauren, the person.
I got her script, and I was like: ‘This person’s really talented, I can’t wait to meet this person.'” The pair was together for three years before Morelli surprised Wiley with a proposal. They’ve been happily married since 2017.
John Barrowman And Scott Gill
Partners for 27 years, actor John Barrowman and architect Scott Gill became one of the first same-sex couples to say “I do” when California legalized same-sex marriage. Ironically, the day they were married, they were arguing! During an interview with Daily Mirror, Barrowman explained what happened on the morning of their wedding.
He said, “We woke up and had a row. Then he said, “Right, so when are you going to propose to me?’ And I said, ‘When am I going to propose to you? When are you going to propose to me?’ That’s when I said, ‘Come on, let’s go and do it – let’s just get it done’.”
Jim Parsons And Todd Spiewak
The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons met the love of his life, Todd Spiewak, in 2002, during a blind date. It might have been Spiewak’s karaoke choice of “I Found Someone” by Cher, but the connection between the two was pretty quick.
But they weren’t quick to walk down the aisle. The couple was together for years before getting hitched back in 2017, something that they didn’t think possible until it became legalized in the United States. During an interview, Parson’s even said, “You know what’s very funny to me? So much of my adult life, [marriage] wasn’t really a possibility.” Now, they are beyond happily married!
Wanda Sykes And Alex Sykes
Wanda Sykes And Alex Sykes met in the most unlikely of places, on a fairy heading to New York’s Fire Island in 2006. In a weird twist of fate, Alex wound up selling Wanda granite for new kitchen countertops, and the two were inseparable ever since.

Zachary Quinto And Miles McMillan
Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto met model Miles McMillan in 2013. From there, the two had a whirlwind romance that even sparked engagement rumors in 2016. Quinto later explained the rumors to E! News, saying, “It’s a vintage ring that I bought as a gift for Miles, and because we were not together on this long press tour I was like, ‘I am going to take that ring because I love it.'”
As it turns out, the two were talking about marriage! But, unfortunately, they amicably split in early 2019 and have agreed to go their “separate ways,” according to People.

And their lives together have only grown. In 2016, the pair brought twins into their family, boys. When asked about their children, Jackson said, “I miss them when I’m in the same room as them!” It’s safe to say those two little boys are going to be very well-loved!
Chely Wright And Lauren Blitzer
When the woman you’re crushing on writes a best seller called Same Sex in the City: So Your Prince Charming Is Really a Cinderella, the only realistic thing to do is marry her on the spot! That author so happens to be Lauren Blitzer and her country musician and LGBTQ+ rights activist wife Chely Wright.
Of course, the two didn’t meet and get married right away, waiting a year, but their meeting was something of perfect timing back in 2010. Now, the women are living happily in New York with their two sons, George and Everett.
Colton Haynes And Jeff Leatham
Actor Colton Haynes and Four Seasons Hotel artistic director Jeff Leatham almost didn’t have their epic love story after canceling their blind date. Years later, they finally met at the airport, with Leatham running up behind Haynes and hitting in the back with his Louis Vuitton bag!

Kate McKinnon And Jackie Abbott
Saturday Night Live comedian Kate McKinnon and actress Jackie Abbott made their first public appearance at the 2017 Emmys, sitting next to each other and hugging after McKinnon won the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Since then, it was obvious to anyone looking that the two were having a lot of fun together.
Both have a wicked sense of humor, are anti-social media, and prefer to keep their relationship private. But one thing they weren’t able to keep a secret is Abbott’s part-time job as a clown! We mean, really, a professional comedian and a clown. Can you say a match made in heaven?
Kristen Stewart And Stella Maxwell
Even though actress Kristen Stewart and model Stella Maxwell both keep their private lives, well, private, they weren’t able to keep their relationship from the public for long. While the logistics of their first meeting are up in the air, rumors began swirling about a possible romance when they were seen leaving the 2016 Met Gala after-party with one another.
These rumors were answered when Maxwell would show up on set to surprise Stewart between her takes. The two even moved in together after a few months of dating! Unfortunately, their love didn’t last, and the two broke up in 2019.

After dating for six years, The Biggest Loser coach Jillian Michaels finally asked her long-time girlfriend Heidi Rhoades to marry her. And let us say, Michaels went all out on the proposal, having a special home video set up with the final slide asking Rhoades if she would marry the trainer.
During an interview, Michaels explained her love for Rhoades, saying, “Heidi is the perfect person for me. The only place where there’s like a solace .. .a safe-haven is with my family,” Michaels said. “And Heidi is the nucleus of that family. Cara Delevingne And Ashley Benson
Model Cara Delevingne and Pretty Little Liars actress Ashley Benson sparked dating rumors back in 2018 but didn’t come out as dating until a year later. And, honestly, no one was surprised when they did, considering all of the photos of them holding hands, vacationing together, and embracing!
Even with their busy schedules, the two entertainers are all about supporting one another. During an interview with E! During an interview with People, Lynch explained her feelings toward her soon-to-be-wife, saying, “It’s just the greatest thrill in the world to find somebody that you want to be with every day.” Unfortunately, the two filed for divorce in 2013.

He said, “I was warned, ‘He has a face that will slay you.’ And it did. I remember thinking, ‘I’ve never met or seen anybody like this.’ I was very nervous around him. I didn’t know how to compose myself.” The good news is that Abner felt the same way! The two married in 2012.

Although they’ve been together for nearly four decades, the couple wasn’t “married” until 2014, when the United States legalized gay marriage. During an interview with People, Manilow recalls the day, saying, “It was deeper than we thought it was going to be, looking at each other, saying, ‘I love you’ in front of people. We’ve been married all these years. It’s just that it became legal.”
Neil Patrick Harris And David Burtka
Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka began seeing each other as friends in 2004, but it didn’t take long for them to go on their first date, a movie starring Angelina Jolie called Taking Lives. From that night on, the two were spending each day together.
During an interview with OUT magazine, Burtka described the first few months of the relationship, saying, “We talk on the phone at least eight times a day and text at least 25 times a day. We are, in a way, very codependent. He’s my lifeline, in an amazing way. Without him, I can’t breathe.” The two are now happily married with twins!

Back in the ’90s, American Horror Story and Glee creator Ryan Murphy met photographer David Miller at a Los Angeles hangout called Muse. Although they were clearly into each other, it took about 15 years for the two to start dating. From there, their love story began.
The couple was married in 2012, welcoming their first child into their small family just six months later. Then, in 2015, they added a second child into the fold! But they didn’t stop there; one more child was added to the Murphy and Miller clan in 2020, a son.

We can totally get behind someone loving their partner for who they are! Not only that, Cummings believes their age helped with their mutual respect for one another, as they got together when they were a bit older.
Matt Dallas And Blue Hamilton
Actor Matt Dallas and musician Blue Hamilton are too cute for words. Not only did they get married back in 2015, but they just recently adopted the cutest baby boy to join their family, Crow. And, if you haven’t seen these two dads gushing over their kid, then you’re missing out!

The two were together for a very long time, and get this, Sam hated Vito at first, thinking he was very rude the first time they met at a house party in college! Eventually, they were engaged. But, it didn’t last, and the two decided it was best to go their separate ways.
Daniel Franzese And Joseph Bradley Phillips
According to the Mean Girls star’s representative, “Daniel [Franzese] knew right away that Joey was the one. Only two weeks after dating, Daniel took one of Joey’s rings, which he rarely wore, so he could have it ready for sizing for when the day would come that he proposed.”
That day came in 2016, two years after the couple met for the first time in a North Hollywood Starbucks. Who says true love can only be found over a nice steaming cup of cappuccino in the movies?

The two met in 2006, during an opening night party for one of Arden’s plays, The Times Are a-Changin’.
As Arden tells it, the best thing to come out of that play was their relationship, since the show was a huge flop! Like most good love stories, these two had a long-distance friendship for years before they became romantically involved after sharing their first kiss! Swoon.
