Japanese Pool Lets You Experience Underwater Living

Leandro Erlich’s
Swimming Pool installation, located at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, Japan, showcases what it might look like if people could breath underwater.

The exhibit looks like a regular underground pool on the surface, but it’s all an optical illusion. In reality, the pool is actually just a rippled body of water that sits on the surface of the pool.

Exhibit visitors can look down on people in the water or visit the bottom of the pool and see what its like to look up at people on the surface.
