PHOTOS: Clever Cat Forts Pet Owners Constructed In 2020

During an uncertain time when people are told to stay inside and socially distance, its no surprise that many of us have a lot of free time on our hands. While some decided to pick up a new hobby, finally read the books they have lying around the house, or anything else to occupy their time, others decided to pamper their cats. Feline pet owners around the world began building forts for their cats, and these are some of the most impressive.

Going All In

Clearly, this cat’s owner didn’t hold anything back when constructing this impressive cat fort. Not only is it elevated above the ground, but it has several different rooms and is in the shape of what looks to be a dragon!

We’re willing to bet that this is the biggest piece of furniture in the house if you can call it that, and it’s all for the cat. We hope they don’t have a dog; otherwise, it might get jealous!

Not Impressed

Even though this cat’s owner took the time to build it their own personal fort, this cat looks far from impressed. Regardless that it even has its name on it, the cat seems angry more than anything.

Maybe it went online and saw what some other people’s cat forts looked like and figured that it got the short end of the stick. It could be that or that this cat just preferred a regular box instead of a fort.

No Dogs Allowed

This cat’s fort makes it very clear that this was built for this cat and this cat only. It looks pretty comfortable as well and even has a little blanket that it can lay on.

On top of that, the cat even has a special place to receive treats and a front door for unlucky mice to enter. Although this car doesn’t look like it knows what’s going on, it definitely seems content with the situation.

Back Away Slowly

We’re willing to bet that this cat has quite the attitude if this is what their owner decided to build them. We have to admit that it’s a pretty clever idea and probably didn’t take all that much time to put together.

The “Hissing Booth” also seems to be very appropriate for this cat, just by the way that the cat is glaring at the camera. We wonder if the cat hisses every time someone has to walk by their booth. Hopefully, it collects its fee of five cents too!

Queen Of The Castle

By the looks of the castle and the pink battlements, we’re going to assume this fort was built for a female feline. In fact, you can even see the cat in the top left of the fort if you look closely enough.

Considering that the cat is essentially hidden behinds the walls, it’s probably safe to say that the cat is loving its new fort. Not only are there multiple rooms, but it has its own garden and toys to keep it occupied.

Double Trouble

Now, these two cats have it made. Their owners made sure that there was enough room for both of them in their cardboard fort. We wonder how these two kittens decided who got the top floor and who got the bottom.

We hope that it didn’t end up in a catfight. Yet, these two cats appear to be content with their situation. After all, there’s more than enough room to go around! They could even get a third roommate if they wanted.

While many of these cat forts are impressive, whoever constructed this went above and beyond. Although the cat may not understand, they have an actual mansion, and we’re sure that a lot of time and effort went into the project.

All you have to do is pay attention to the detail! There’s little doubt that whoever built this is an artist and decided to use their talents to give their cat an over-the-top kitty fort.

The Cat Kingdom

These cats sure did luck out when it came to their cardboard fort. It appears that their owner spared no time or expense when it came to constructing this behemoth of a structure.

Taking up almost an entire wall of the house, this kitty fort is truly a marvel both in size and in detail, and the cats couldn’t look happier. They look so happy, in fact, that they appear to be almost offended that anyone dared step into their domain.

Keeping The Dogs At Bay

Even though there are dogs in the picture, it’s clear that this fort was definitely only built for the cats. This isn’t just any fort either but has a drawbridge, cannons, a pirate flag, and high walls.

We’re willing to bet that there’s a slim chance that either of these dogs ever manages to get inside. Meanwhile, those cats look quite comfortable sheltering behind the walls. We wonder if the dogs have something similar to this of their own.

Close Enough

If you’ve ever seen a film made by the production company Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, you may be familiar with the company’s title screen that shows its logo with a roaring lion.

Iconic in the film industry, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer seems to have inspired this cat owner to transform a simple box into not just a fort for their cat, but a nod to the production company. However, instead of roaring, you’ll most likely just hear meowing coming from this cat.

Comfy In The Chateau

Although not many of us can claim to live in a chateau, incredibly, this black cat can. Not only do we applaud the seemingly solid construction of this fort, but the art on the front that makes it clear who this cardboard structure is for.

All around, this is impressive work, and we doubt that the cat spends very little time outside of his fort. Ralph sure is a lucky cat, and we hope this structure stays up forever.

Taking A Load Off

This kitty couldn’t look more comfortable while laying in their fort. Not only does the fort look structurally sound, but there’s no shortage of stuffed animals and blankets to make the cat as comfortable as possible.

If you don’t see this cat wandering around the house or laying in the sun, chances are, you can most likely find it here, taking a nap or just putting its paws up after a stressful day of hunting flies.

Not Just A Fort, But A Fortress

This cat’s owner didn’t just build their pet a fort but constructed an actual fortress. We’re sure that this cat could survive any attack from other pets in the household with its impenetrable walls and small gate.

We wonder how long it must have taken the owner to draw in each of those bricks individually, although it definitely looks worth it. We’re sure this must be quite the talking piece whenever this person entertains guests, because it’s most likely, unlike anything anyone has ever seen.

Attention To Detail

Although this cat’s fort is built using cardboard, the owner took things to the next level by wrapping the whole thing in duct tape and electrical tape in order to make it extra durable and look all that much better.

This goes to show that you don’t have to buy an expensive cat structure from a pet store, and all it takes is some cardboard boxes, tape, and some ingenuity in order to make your cat happy.

A Colorful Abode

While a lot of people simply cut holes in cardboard boxes for their cats, that’s certainly not what this owner did. Not only did they paint the house to make it look like a real human home, but they nailed all of the details.

The house is fully equipped with a garage, front door, windows, and even a side house! We wonder if they take turns using the different parts of the house or if they each have their designated areas.

Take No Prisoners

This cat is locked and loaded for action. Perched on the top of its fort with a weapon, they are most likely waiting for the pesky dog to come into the room so they can give it a piece of their mind.

Cats are already rather unpredictable pets, so we’re not sure why this cat’s owner decided to give this one a defensive position and what appears to be a fake sniper rifle. They better make sure to feed it on time!

Party Of Two

These two adorable kittens look like they’re having the time of their life in their new fort. This is nice because they can take turns being on the top or the bottom, and they’re both still so small that there’s more than enough room for the two of them.

This might have been a risky move building these two kittens a fort because they’re known to be kind of destructive. Therefore, this fort most likely won’t be around for long.

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Let Down Your Tail!

Sitting in its cardboard palace, this cat looks like it could be the main character of a Disney princess movie. The detail on this cardboard fort is immaculate, and it had to have taken quite some time to get it all together.

Possibly the best addition to this is the perch that the cat can lay on because if you’ve ever owned a cat, you know that most of them like to lounge in high-up places.

Welcome To My Lair

It appears that this cat’s owner had quite a few Dell computer boxes lying around, so they decided to construct the ultimate fort for their glowing-eyed cat. While its eyes are most likely just the result of a camera flash, they do make this cat look particularly fierce inside of their fort.

The last thing anyone wants to see in the middle of the night is this cat staring directing at them with their head popping out of their fort, so now we’re scared for this cat’s owner.

Simple, Yet Effective

Although this cat’s owner could have done the bare minimum and simply cut a hole in this box for their cat to enjoy, they decided to have some fun with it.

Even though the cat probably doesn’t even notice or care, painting the box with this funny face must make it look better in the room than just some old cardboard box. On top of that, the cat certainly looks like its enjoying its time in this flashy fort.
