These Photos Show What Working From Home With Pets Is Like

Many pet owners appreciate the extra time they have with their pets while working from home. That being said, working in the same place you live isn't always a walk in the park when you have pets (pun intended). If you thought staying focused was hard with all the distractions you have at home, just imagine having a living teddy bear by your side, begging for your attention. Whether it's a cat climbing all over the laptop or a dog making their way into a video chat, these humorous photos show how adorably frustrating it can be having a pet as a coworker.

This Lap Is Reserved

This cat looks like it's used to snuggling up on momma's lap. The laptop is a nuisance, but that won't stop this pet from performing her usual regimen. There's just enough room on the keyboard for kitty to get comfy.

It must be a tough decision for the owner: work-filled screen or fluffy ball of love? And even if the cat owner does move her needy coworker to another spot, we're confident it will just come crawling back to its beloved lap.

It seems like this dog had been trying to get its owner's attention for quite some time before this photo was taken. Now the adorable canine has resorted to shoving its face next to the laptop since that's clearly what is taking all of the owner's attention.

Most adorable is that the dog is sticking out its tongue. If it were a human, we would think it was trying to scold the owner. But since it's a pooch, we know it's just trying to give its owner a kiss, and that is why humans don't deserve dogs.

Piggy-Back Time?

This dog is clearly doing all it can to get its owner to look back at it. It can't be easy to focus on work with the weight of your dog pressing down on your shoulders, both literally and metaphorically.

The poor guy is still trying to type as his dog gets into piggy-back position while licking the owner's neck and ears. From a dog-owner perspective, it's ridiculously cute, but from an employee perspective, it's about as distracting as being blasted with a megaphone.

We have to give props to this cat's confidence. Its eyes seem to say "you know you want to pet me" while rubbing its fur on its owner's arm. If this were a spy film, we'd be sure the cat was a double agent based on its persuasiveness.

The cat positioned itself perfectly so that the owner can't type without feeling its fur, and also so that the feline is completely covering her open notebook.

Guardians Of The Workplace

The way these birds are perched all along their owner's computer monitor makes them look like the guardians of the workplace. The only problem is that the bird down at the end is facing the wrong direction; maybe that one's job is to keep tabs on the owner while they're working.

We would imagine that it'd be difficult to get work done when you have four birds sitting at the top of the screen, especially with their tail feathers obstructing the view.

Sure, having three dogs provides you with three times the love, snuggles, and playtime. But it also means you have three times the amount of pressure radiating from those begging faces!

Just imagine typing away on your laptop and then seeing a train of adorable pooches, all of which are looking right at you. No matter how hard their owner tries to ignore it, you know they're seeing all three dogs out of their peripheral vision 24/7.

Doggy Takeover

This dog must have tried all the tricks it had-- from begging to licking to running around. Ultimately, it had to resort to a full-body takeover. The sweet canine is climbing on top of its owner so that you can't even see her face under all of the fur.

In case blinding the owner wasn't enough, the dog's back paw is positioned and ready to pin down the owner's hand so she physically can't type. It's not the smoothest of approaches, but we commend the canine's effort.

This kitten at least positioned itself between the owner at her laptop, rather than plopping right on top of the keyboard like some of the other cat's have done. But just because her position doesn't prevent her owner from working doesn't mean that her meowing doesn't.

Though you can't hear the noise the young cat is making, the expression on its face is practically audible. You know that kitty is borderline hissing at its person for attention.

If we didn't know better, we'd think the cat was trying to make sense of the computer screen's facts and figures. Maybe the feline is attempting to discern what makes this computer screen so interesting that it has the ability to steal the owner's attention all day.

Tom and Jerry taught us that cats love to chase mice, but maybe it was the wrong kind of mouse all along! This cat seems like it would love a good game of computer mouse chase.
