Whether you’ve always wished you had a long lost twin out there, or just want to see what others see when they look at you, finding a doppelganger can be a fun surprise. You don’t always run into a lookalike in person; sometimes they are a cartoon character, a painting, or in a photograph or and advertisements. One little boy found his doppelganger on the cover of a magazine. A grown man found his unrelated twin on a potato chip bag! From board games to bus stop signs, see where these people unexpectedly stumbled upon their lookalike.
A Real-Life Version Of A Children’s Book Character
Many little kids strive to be like the characters they love on television or in their favorite book. This young girl didn’t even have to try to look like the main character in a children’s book she opened up in the store.
Just think of all the kids who jump through hoops to try and dress up like their idol on Halloween. They would probably love to look as much like their beloved character as this girl does. The only thing missing is her cape.
He Found Himself While Wondering Through A Game Store
It’s not everyday that you find yourself in a board game store (pun intended). This man found a striking lookalike on the cover of Shogun, a strategic board game that came out in 2006. He could have stumbled upon the game at any point before, but then he may not have resembled the character so much.
If he’d found the game when it first came out several years ago, this man could have had no resemblance to the game’s character. He had to have the long hair, the beard, and be fully grown for this fateful moment to ensue.
Disney Should Hire This Up Lookalike
A major part of what makes the Disney film Up so heartwarming is the pudgy boy scout named Russell. This boy has a striking resemblance to the character we love so much, especially in his boy scout sash and yellow hat.
Judging by the balloons on the floor, this boy must be at some sort of an event for the film, which would explain why he’s dressed just like the character. What isn’t explained is how his facial features and hair color are so similar to that of the cartoon.
The Old Man In Up May Exist Afterall
The elderly man in Up was impossible not to love, especially after seeing his darling love story with his wife at the start of the film. As it turns out, there’s a man out there who looks a lot like that character.
Between his round nose, square glasses, simple grin, and combed gray hair, this man looks strikingly similar to the lead, Carl Frederickson, in Up. We wonder if he ever gets special treatment for looking like the grandfather we all wish we had.
He Looks Like A Young Linguini From Ratatouille
Lou Romano, aka Linguini, was the dweebie chef we couldn’t help but fall for in the movie Ratatouille. This guy looks like the teenage version of the animated character thanks to his curly, red hair and incredibly similar facial features.
While the plot of the movie seemed a little far-fetched (a rat chef?!), it turned out to be an adorable flick that this boy clearly isn’t ashamed to resemble. We just hope he doesn’t spend his free time trying to talk to rats.
He Found His Doppelganger At The Bus Stop
While doppelganger is a synonym for a lookalike, some traditions use the term more precisely to refer to an evil twin. That seems to more accurately depict what’s going on at this bus stop, where a man found his lookalike in a Crime Stoppers advertisement.
We can imagine a mother and her child sitting there at the bus stop and having to do a double-take to ensure that the man standing next to them isn’t actually the criminal from the poster.
His Lookalike Was On A Bag Of Potato Chips!
Imagine that you’re at the grocery store, rummaging the aisles for a snack, and you come upon a bag of chips with your face on them! That sounds like a crazy scenario, but for this man, it actually happened.
His black-rimmed glasses, red hair, light skin, and grin are all spot on with the character on the potato chip bag. The checker who rang him up must have thought that he was the creator of the potato chip company and was just buying a bag to be ironic.
She Found Her Self Portrait
This young lady was roaming through an art gallery when she stumbled upon a photo that looked eerily similar to her. Considering her freckles, the shape of her facial features, her blue eyes, and even her eyeliner, we would have guessed she modeled for the artist.
The strangest part is that the girl pictured here said she wanted to be an astronaut when she grew up, and the name of the painting is “When I Grow Up.” It doesn’t get much more coincidental than that.
This Little Boy Thinks He’s The Prince!
This magazine features little Prince George holding his newborn sister, Princess Charlotte. Next to the magazine, sitting in a shopping cart, is a little boy who looks tickled pink at his unexpected doppelganger.
The little boy’s hair, nose, and skin tone all look so tremendously similar to the young prince that even the toddler can see the striking resemblance. If they look as similar thirty years from now as they do here, the media will likely have a field day.
His Doppelganger Was Hanging Over His Head
We sincerely hope that this boy’s parent noticed his doppelganger before he did, and took him by surprise by telling him to look up. That would be quite a shock to see your lookalike hanging from the ceiling.
The boy’s open mouth smile is priceless and leads us to believe that this photo was snapped mere moments after he discovered his unrelated twin. There’s something exciting about seeing someone who looks like you, especially when you’re young and the world seems so small.
She Spotted Herself In A Painting
Like the woman we previously saw who had a remarkable resemblance to a painting, this woman found herself in a work of art, too. It must be flattering to see yourself in an art gallery, especially if others start taking notice of the similarities.
As strange as it is to see or meet someone who looks like you, we’d venture to say it’s even odder to see a piece of art that resembles you since it was created by a stranger.
He Found Himself On A Shower Brush Package Of All Places
When you imagine finding your doppelganger, we would guess that the last place you’d envision seeing them is on a package. Not only is this man’s lookalike on a piece of cardboard, but it’s a strange advertisement for the shower brush it contains.
The animated character is looking wide-eyed at the camera, which is somehow supposed to entice customers to buy the shower brush. It’s probably the oddest twin we’ve seen so far, but this young man seems to be getting a kick out of it.
This Man Could Be Eddie Rabbitt’s Son
Country music singer-songwriter Eddie Rabbitt was a stud in 1980 when his album Horizon came out. This young man is showing off his comparably good looks by holding up the album, which reveals a striking resemblance between the two men.
Their hairstyles and beards are remarkably similar, even in color. We don’t know when this photograph was taken, but if it were recent, we would bet that the young man pulled his collar up on purpose, just to emphasize how similar he looks to the country singer.
Going To The Doctor Is Good, Especially When You Find Your Twin There
Typically, you don’t want to be surprised at the doctor’s office since that can mean bad news. For this man, he received a healthy dose of shock not from his doctor, but from his doctor’s acid reflux poster.
The animated man in the poster has an oddly similar look to the patient on account of their similar faces and haircuts. Weirdest of all, though, is that they are in matching shirts! If only the poster was longer, perhaps they’d have the same pants on too!
This Is Doppelganger Inception
While we’ve seen some pretty unusual doppelgangers, we’ve yet to see a three levels deep doppelganger scenario like this one. The man was searching for lookalikes when he stumbled upon a pair who both resemble him.
It all started with a painting of a man, which a similar-looking man posed with for a selfie with, which this man then positioned himself in front of for another photograph. It just goes to show that genes can come up with similar combinations multiple times over the years.
Felonious Gru Is A Teacher In Real Life
Imagine walking into class on the first day of school and discovering that your teacher looks exactly like the main character in Despicable Me! We sincerely hope that he teaches at an elementary school because the kids would probably go nuts.
His bald head, dark eyebrows, gray tie, and dark jacket make it seem as though he was making an effort to resemble Steve Carrell’s hilarious Felonious Gru. On Halloween, he must make a ton of trick-or-treaters very happy.
This Young Man Looks A Real Life Human Shrek
Shrek may be the most lovable ogre to date, but we still wouldn’t go around calling out people who look like him. However, the human form of Shrek, which appears in Shrek 2, is rather handsome.
Whoever took this photograph clearly noticed that this version of Shrek bore a clear resemblance to the young man pictured here. His ears are slightly curved forward, his hair is dark and thick, and he has a button nose, make him a notable doppelganger to the animated character.
Will Smith Looks Like A Wise Man
While Will Smith’s characters do tend to be intelligent, that’s not why we say he looks like a wise man. Rather, it’s because he literally looks like this nativity scene figurine that’s meant to represent one of the wise men.
We would guess that whoever sculpted the piece was a huge fan of Will Smith; that’s the only reason we can think of that the artist would have subconsciously made a wise man who looks so much like the actor.
Even His Facial Expression Matches The Man On The Wall
This man’s dark hair, eyebrows, mustache, eyes, and even his jacket seem to match that of the person in the painting to a tee. His skin tone also matches, though the man in the painting is slightly more olive.
What really grabs our attention about these doppelgangers is their facial expressions, which are just about the same. The only discrepancy we can pick up on is that the living man does have quite the same curve to his eyebrow as the painting, but that’s being extremely nit-picky.
This Man Looks Like An Ancient Statue
While we’ve seen several people who found thier doppelgangers in artwork, this one might top them all. That’s because the statue is missing half its head, and yet we still can recognize the impressive similarity between it and the man paying a visit.
Something about the shape of the statue’s face seems in tune with that of the man, as does its deepset eyes and beard. But best of all are the nearly identical forehead lines.
