This baby fawn was rescued from certain death and that’s not even the best part

Darius Sasnauskas was excited to learn that two fawns were born in his backyard near Yellowstone National Park.

Soon after the fawns were born Sasnauskas realized that one of the babies had a broken leg.

Not wanting the baby to die, he jumped into action and adopted the injured animal.

Sasnauskas felt an immediate attachment to the injured animal.

When her mom left her behind, he didn’t want nature to take its course.

A number of predators already lurked on his property.

The baby was brought into his home where a few curious cats threw somewhat of a protest.

Using an oatmeal container he was able to fashion a cast for the baby deer.

The hungry little girl needed to eat every four hours.

Sasnauskas’ dogs, Mack, took a liking to her!

Eventually her leg healed and she was able to walk and even run.

The baby fawn was released into the wild on several occasions but she kept returning to her dad’s home.

One day the fawn’s mother returned and the baby rejoined her family!

A few months later, Sasnauskas spotted his former fawn daugher living with her family while frolicking near his home.
