Japan’s 66th annual Sapporo Snow Festival is a celebration of snow that features numerous world-class sculptures. This year the festival had one sculpture that stood out among all others. The creation features Darth Vader, three stormtroopers, and several TIE fighters as they loom over the Death Star.

The sculpture measures 15 meters tall and 23 meters across, and was created with approximately 3,500 tons of snow.

Japan’s army troopers, officially, the 11th Brigade of the Ground Self-Defense Forces, created the sculpture with the help of bulldozers.

The piece was inspired by the latest Star Wars installment, The Force Awakens. The sculpture was created with approval from Lucas Film Ltd.
