CLAWS’ focus is on the pets people abandon – exotic pets to be exact. For many people who purchase exotic pets (whether they’re legal like certain types of wolves and foxes or illegal like endangered birds), it proves to be a difficult undertaking. Not every species is meant to be domesticated and people often abuse, hurt, and abandon these creatures because they don’t know how to take care of them.

This is where CLAWS steps in – releasing those into the wild who can function and caring for those that are too domesticated to live without humans. One of their oldest residents is Galileo, an adorable domesticated fox who has been with the organization for 10 years.

Coming up: a sanctuary that gets the entire community involved.
