Dujiangyan Panda Base

The Dujiangyan Panda Base is just 34 miles outside of Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan and is home to the best babysitting job in the world – taking care of adorable baby pandas. Their Panda Keeper Program allows travelers to assist caretakers during their workday – from feeding pandas bamboo and snacks of steamed buns and apples to cleaning enclosures. There’s also an adorable panda playground where you can witness the gentle giants at their most active.
Dujiangyan Panda Base is relatively new. It was completed in 2013 to give pandas a safe space after the 2008 earthquake. It includes a panda hospital, medical lab, kitchen, a panda disease control, prevention and research area, a panda rescue and quarantine area and a panda rehab, training and feeding area.
