Kangaroos are the unofficial mascot of Australia, and they deserve our help if they need it. The Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs, Central Australia, aims to do just that by saving baby kangaroos that were orphaned by their parents. The Kangaroo Sanctuary aims to rescue, rehabilitate and release orphaned baby kangaroos, the youngest of which can’t survive outside of their mother’s pouch.

In addition, the sanctuary runs a Kangaroo Hospital in the center of Australia. Previously, the nearest wildlife hospital was over 1,500 kilometers away. Here, volunteers work around the clock at rehabilitating the most vulnerable patients and have since risen over $100,000 AUD to upgrade their facilities.
