Long Distance Swimming Is Dangerous, But Not If You Have Dolphin Bodyguards

Long-distance swimmer Adam Walker was heading through the tumultuous waters of New Zealand’s Cook Strait on April 22 when he realized that a great white shark was swimming beneath him and ready to attack.

In a matter of seconds Walker could have been dead. Instead, a family of dolphins appeared out of nowhere, surrounded the swimmer, and insured that the great white shark would not attack.

The Dolphins swam with Walker until the shark retreated and then they went on their way.

Adam Walker’s friends had no idea that his life near came to an end.

The swimmers YouTube video was uploaded on April 23, 2014 and has since racked up more than 2.274 million views.
