The Fightin’ President
Although, normally we talk about Obama as the inspirational one, in this kid it was the child who was inspirational. Jaren Suber met the President through the Make A Wish Foundation. Jaren is battling a large brain tumor and has had to go through numerous bouts of chemotherapy. The young man also happened to be a tae kwon do expert black belt. It was this reason that Obama hit a fighting stance and he asked Jaren to show him some moves. Jaren said, “He was like a friend who just comes over your house all the time. He was very polite and he wasn’t stiff at all, just comfortable. He made me feel comfortable.” His mom Karen also felt the same and said that Obama, “made us feel like family, like he was an uncle or a relative coming to visit and catch up.” Jaren is still continuing to fight his battle with cancer and is now 17 years old.
