Police officer buys car seat for struggling dad

When Lavante Dell was pulled over by police officer Joshua Scaglione of the Westland, Michigan Police Department, he was pretty sure an expensive ticket that he couldn’t afford was about to be issued.

Scaglione noticed that Dell’s Impala had tinted windows, which are not allowed in Michigan.

As he walked up to the vehicle the police officer noticed that Dell’s 3-year-old daughter was not riding in a car seat.

When asked why his daughter was not properly secured, Dell fought back tears as he told the officer that he was struggling to keep his family above water.

Scaglione then asked Dell to step out of the vehicle. But it wasn’t to place him under arrest, or even to issue him a ticket for the tinted windows, it was to give him privacy to explain his situation without scaring his little daughter.

Dell explained that a car seat was a priority but that he needed to buy food for his family and make sure they had a place to live.

The officer listened, as he empathized with the man who seemed to just want to provide for his family. Officer Scaglione then asked that Dell get back into his car and follow him to the local Walmart.

Once inside the store the police officer picked out a car seat and personally bought it for the struggling dad.

Touched, Dell has recently reached on Facebook in order to thank the officer. Check out the video and then SHARE this post on Facebook to spread the love.
