It’s hard to tell how a parent will react to their child announcing that they are transgender. Some parents freak out and disown their kids while others react like Steve and Lindsay Peace.
When their son, Ace, said he was transgender, th[tps_header][/tps_header]e parents, both tattoo artists, realized their old tattoos of their former daughter were no longer accurate.
They wanted to make sure their tattoos didn’t remind Ace of a past he didn’t want to live, so they updated their tattoos in a truly beautiful way.
As a surprise for Ace, the two began redesigning their existing tattoos to include their new son. Steve started the process by totally transforming a 10-year-old forearm tattoo that his wife had.
The comparison was shared on the Immaculate Concept Tattoo Facebook page and the encouragement the parents and their son have received is truly amazing.
Steve told The Global News that “[The former tattoo] made [Ace] sad, it was just a constant reminder of this time in his life. I don’t think he wants to remember being that person.”
Steve wrote on Facebook that he wanted to “update the tattoo to fully represent who he is in his happy new awesome life.”
The entire transformation only took around an hour, and Steve said that once was absolutely thrilled to see the new tattoo. Ace told The Global News, “it finally fits.”
Ace is now seen in his current life as a male.
What amazing parents!
